Transfer gossip: Mirror link QPR with Jerome

QPR are among Championship clubs interested in Derby County striker Cameron Jerome, the Mirror claim.

Derby are said to be ready to offload the 32-year-old, who has yet to feature since Frank Lampard took over as manager at Pride Park.

The Mirror say Derby will listen to offers for him and that there is interest from QPR as well as Ipswich, Hull, Blackburn and Reading.

Is there anything in it?

Jerome is one of several players to have been linked with QPR at various points during the summer despite never being among the club’s targets.

Rangers manager Steve McClaren wanted Jerome’s fellow Derby striker Chris Martin and would like to bring in Rams midfielder George Thorne, although the QPR hierarchy have been reluctant to sanction either signing. But there has been no interest in Jerome.

QPR are in fact looking to offload strikers following the recent loan signings of Tomer Hemed and Nahki Wells.

The club are keen to get rid of Idrissa Sylla and would also listen to offers for Conor Washington.
