QPR give up on McKenna and eye striker deal, with Wells a possible option

QPR have ended their pursuit of Scott McKenna and are looking to bring in a striker, with Nahki Wells among the possible options.

The R’s have been unable to agree a fee with Aberdeen for centre-back McKenna and are reluctant to spend on another defender during the final stages of the transfer window.

They are, however, exploring the possibility of bringing in another forward by the 5pm deadline.

On Thursday morning a number of potential deals were being discussed, including a possible return for Wells from Burnley.

Wells spent last season on loan at QPR and has indicated he would like to return, although several other clubs are interested.

Rangers are among many Championship sides to have spent the summer hoping to land Arsenal youngster Eddie Nketiah, who is being tipped to join Leeds.

Meanwhile, Sheffield Wednesday are set to complete the signing of Massimo Luongo.

  • Will be happy if we get Wells back, give us an alternative to Hugill

One thing I do worry about tho is the amount of loan players and where that leaves us at the end of the season, but I guess for now we just need to make the squad stronger
