QPR complete loan deal for Wolves’ Doyle

QPR have completed the signing of striker Kevin Doyle on loan from Wolves for the rest of the season.

West London Sport revealed this morning that Rangers had moved for the 30-year-old Republic of Ireland international following the news that top scorer Charlie Austin faces a prolonged spell on the sidelines with a shoulder injury.

Doyle joined Wolves for £6.5m in June 2009 from Reading and has made 158 appearances for the Molineux club, scoring 30 goals.

He suffered two relegations with Wolves, who have been looking to offload him for some time.

“Hopefully he can come in and get his career up and running again,” said Rangers manager Harry Redknapp.

“He’s a good lad and a good player and we’ve been looking to bring in someone up front.”
