QPR defender De Wijs completes loan move

QPR defender Jordy De Wijs

QPR defender Jordy de Wijs has joined German second-tier club Fortuna Dusseldorf on loan for the rest of the season.

West London Sport recently revealed that the Dutchman was in line for a surprise loan move in the final days of the transfer window.

He has been plagued by injuries and has not made a first-team appearance for three months.

Rangers have strengthened their defensive options with the recent loan signing of Dion Sanderson, so agreed to let De Wijs go.

Director of football Les Ferdinand told the club website the move would enable De Wijs to regain his fitness.

Ferdinand said: “This move presents a good opportunity for Jordy to get some game time and build his resilience during the second half of the season. He will return to us in the summer.”
