Chelsea’s Sterling could replace Furlong at QPR

QPR are discussing a potential deal to sign Chelsea right-back Dujon Sterling on loan as a replacement for Darnell Furlong, who has completed his move to West Brom.

Furlong, 23, the son of former Blues and R’s striker Paul, has left Loftus Road in a £1.5m deal.

He made 29 appearances last season and has played 72 times for the club since making his debut as a teenager in the Premier League in February 2015.

Chelsea academy product Sterling, 19, is Rangers’ preferred option to replace Furlong. He has made two first-team appearances for the Blues – both as a substitute.

He played 40 games on loan for League One side Coventry City last season.
