QPR 2 Brentford 2

QPR scored two injury-time goals in the space of a minute to dramatically snatch a point in the derby at Loftus Road.

Luke Freeman equalised after Matt Smith had pulled a goal back for Rangers, who looked beaten after Lasse Vibe’s brace.

Vibe put Brentford ahead seven minutes into the second half with his first goal of the season.

Nico Yennaris steered the ball into the box and Vibe, having sneaked between defenders Jack Robinson and Alex Baptiste, turned and fired past keeper Alex Smithies.

Vibe struck again with 10 minutes remaining, this time with a first-time finish into the far corner after Romaine Sawyers had pulled the ball back from the right.

Smith, on as a substitute, nodded in after former Brentford man Jake Bidwell had headed on Freeman’s cross.

It looked like being a mere consolation for Rangers, but Freeman netted from close range following Smith’s knockdown in the final seconds.

Rangers had been on the back foot for much of the first half but almost went ahead in the opening minute of the second, when Idrissa Sylla headed against the bar.

And after going behind, they had a strong appeal for a penalty waved away when Freeman’s shot hit John Egan’s arm.

There seemed to be no way back for the R’s when Vibe doubled the visitors’ lead, but somehow a fourth consecutive defeat was averted.
