QPR boss rules out loan move for Defoe

Harry Redknapp has insisted he is not interested in bringing Jermain Defoe to QPR on loan.

Defoe, currently with Toronto, played under Rangers boss Redknapp at Portsmouth and Tottenham.

He has been linked with a temporary move to Loftus Road given that the Major League Soccer season runs from October to March.

But Redknapp said: “No, not for two months. To bring Jermain here for just two months would only be a distraction I think.

“If he came permanently, if he said ‘listen, I want to come back to England’ I would be the first in the queue, but that’s not going to happen.

“To bring him back for two months would be a waste of time.”
