Redknapp confirms interest in Van der Vaart

Harry Redknapp has confirmed he is interested in bringing former Tottenham playmaker Rafael van der Vaart to QPR.

The 31-year-old Dutchman, who played under the Rangers boss at White Hart Lane, is currently with German club Hamburg.

And Redknapp, who is keen to sign at least one ‘number 10’ this summer, would like to be reunited with him if a deal can be agreed.

He said: “He’s a great footballer, great professional and a goalscorer – he’d get you 10 to 12 goals a year in that position.

“I like Rafa. He’s an interesting player and has got class.”

Van Der Vaart scored a total of 24 goals in 63 Premier League appearances during a two-year spell at Spurs, who signed him from Real Madrid in 2010.

  • lower table teams need - to win or draw at home
away - draw or lose away
convert - field position to goals - (a dead ball expert needed)

Arry already 'as 'is 2 centrebacks - re corners etc - so who is the dead ball guy? ... did anybody notice how many goals were scored from dead balls in the major World Cup games ?

this guy makes sense ... when you look at it

then all you need is a couple of super quick counter attacking players to make oppositions reluctant to send too many players forward ... young guys with an attitude ...

it isn't rocket science ... Arry 'opefully knows that

old hard heads through the middle ... and quick young guns with attitude out wide ...
