QPR boss hopeful Hall will be ready

Grant Hall was a key player for QPR before his injury

QPR boss Steve McClaren says he is hopeful Grant Hall will be ready for the start of pre-season training.

The defender has had surgery on the persistent knee problem that kept him out of action for most of last season.

McClaren met him soon after being confirmed as Rangers manager last month and believes Hall, 26, is making a good recovery.

McClaren explained: “I’d just signed and was looking around the training ground and Grant Hall was there.

“I was fortunate enough to have a quick conversation with him. He’s training through the summer, his rehab’s gone well.

“It’s always difficult after a year out and we have to take it quite slowly with him, but I’m quite hopeful that on the first day of pre-season he’s going to be with the group.”

Meanwhile, QPR have cooled their interest in midfielder Dylan McGeouch and McClaren says he does not expect the club to make many signings this summer.
