Ian Holloway has hailed Jack Robinson for turning his QPR career around this season.
Robinson, signed from Liverpool in 2014 and immediately loaned to Huddersfield, has struggled for fitness and form since suffering a serious knee injury while playing for the Yorkshire club.
The 24-year-old has been beset by a number of problems and was often unable to even train prior to enjoying a full pre-season during the summer.
Rangers boss Holloway then wanted to send him out on loan because Robinson was behind Jake Bidwell in the pecking order.
No move materialised – largely because clubs were concerned about Robinson’s injury record.
He was then handed a chance because of Rangers’ injury problems at centre-back, where he has established himself as a first-team regular with a series of impressive performances.
“Robbo, Jesus – he couldn’t train twice in two days when I came here and now look at him,” Holloway declared.
“He had a really good pre-season under his belt and the boy has knuckled down and made sure he can do it. I can’t tell you how proud I am of him.
“He had a horrendous time where he was brought here, loaned out and then he came back injured. He’s had a really tough time.
“Robbo was told openly: ‘I might have to loan you out because I don’t want your good pre-season to go and at the moment you’re behind Bidwell’.
“He’s taken advantage of the central defender crisis that’s upon us, and goodness gracious me he’s first on the teamsheet at the moment without a shadow of a doubt.”
Having performed well as a left-sided centre-back, Robinson was even more impressive when deployed in the middle of the back three for Friday’s derby defeat against Fulham.
“He was absolutely magnificent,” said Holloway.
“It just shows what you can achieve with determination. Whatever happens in your life, you keep going.”

Typical IH,deflecting from yet another poor result due to his mis- management,Why keep your best strikers on the bench??any and every manager(with the exception of IH),aims to put out their best 11 from the start but oh no he has a different way of playing,hence another poor run of results,basically he doesn't know what he's doing.
Mr. Fernandes you must start looking for a proper manager,lest the relegation trap-door appears, waiting for us to drop through.
