QPR boss explains Polter substitution

QPR boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink said Sebastian Polter was substituted at half-time against Blackburn because of a minor injury.

Striker Polter did not appear for the second half of the game at Loftus Road, where Rangers drew 1-1.

Hasselbaink said Polter, who was replaced by Conor Washington, was withdrawn because of a problem with a gluteal muscle.

“He didn’t want to come off, but I had to do it as a precaution,” said Hasselbaink.

“He has had a tight glute and I made the decision to not risk him and to trust the other lads.”

Hasselbaink also praised his players and insisted Rangers deserved to win the game.
