Gareth Ainsworth has indicated that the likes of Ilias Chair and Kenneth Paal are being lined up to return for QPR this weekend.

They are among several players currently out injured but both recently returned to training.

Tuesday’s game at Blackpool appears to be too soon for them, but Ainsworth hopes to have them back against Birmingham on Saturday.

Ainsworth explained: “It’s a matter of hoping we can get a couple in before the weekend.”

The R’s boss admitted he is “a bit worried” about the physical condition of some of his players, who will “need to recover quickly” following the physically demanding victory over Watford on Saturday.

He added: “I believe the third game in a week is a tough one – the second one sometimes you can patch up and get through, but the third game is a killer.

“So if we can get some bodies back I’ll be looking at Saturday’s game. The likes of Ilias Chair and Kenneth Paal are very close, so hopefully we can get those guys back.

“They’re out on the grass training now, it’s just about making sure there’s no recurrence.”
