Bidwell completes QPR medical as Fer nears Swansea move

Jake Bidwell has completed a medical ahead of his move from Brentford to QPR, while Leroy Fer will undergo a medical at Swansea later today.

Left-back Bidwell, 23, is set to join Rangers in £1.3m deal, while an agreement has been reached for midfielder Fer, 26, to move to the Liberty Stadium on a permanent basis in a deal potentially worth £4.75m.

Fer, signed by QPR from Norwich in 2014, made 11 appearances while on loan at Swansea last season.

He is due to return to his native Netherlands after his medical and is expected to complete the transfer next week.

Rangers have been keen to offload him for some time – a proposed loan move to Sunderland fell through after he failed and medical and discussions about a potential move to PSV Eindhoven came to nothing before he eventually joined the Swans.

Meanwhile, QPR manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink says he wants Steven Caulker to stay at the club.
