QPR v Wrexham player ratings
QPR conceded two goals in the space of a dramatic stoppage-time minute to lose 3-2 at home to Wrexham. Here’s how we rated each Rangers player.
Joe Walsh: 5
Has been in excellent form and enjoyed more good moments, including a fine save low down to his right moments before Wrexham’s first goal. But he was beaten at his near post for that goal, and the Welsh side’s second equaliser came after he flapped at a corner, making it a bad day for the Rangers keeper.
Amadou Mbengue: 4
Dear oh dear. An already shabby performance, underlined by Mbengue’s failure to clear his lines in the build-up to Wrexham’s first goal, and his 10th yellow card of the season, took a turn for the even worse when he was booked again, for a daft challenge, and sent off in stoppage time, with Wrexham then scoring twice.
Jimmy Dunne: 7
Played well again. Is a better centre-back for his spell at right-back, and his combination with Cook has worked nicely.
Steve Cook: 7
Had another very decent game – and scored with a fine header into the far corner of the net.
Rhys Norrington-Davies: 7
Defended solidly and was always eager to get forward. Has been consistent for Rangers this season and did well again on his return to the side.
Karamoko Dembele: 7
Excellent in the first half – a much-needed response to some disappointing performances – and hit the bar moments before helping to set up the opening goal. His defensive work was also better. But he did fade badly and could have been taken off before eventually being replaced on 74 minutes.
Nicolas Madsen: 8
Had to battle – and did – while also producing moments of quality, not least when he won possession and set up Dembele with a back-heel in the build-up to the opening goal, and when he delivered a corner for Cook’s goal.
Kieran Morgan: 6
Brought into the side and had some good moments in a first half Rangers were well on top in. But he was another player who faded as the game wore on, and he was replaced by Issac Hayden midway through the second half with Wrexham having won control of the midfield.
Paul Smyth: 6
Did well in the first half, although he had a touch of luck when he gave the ball away only for the mistake to indirectly lead to the first goal. Like Dembele, though, his performance then dipped.
Harvey Vale: 7
Scored with a lovely left-footed volley and looked at home in his attacking role just off the front. He can be well pleased with his return to the starting line-up.
Richard Kone: 7
No goal for the striker, but he was at least back to being a striker. And he was much-improved as a result, holding the ball up really well and giving Rangers an important focal point up front.
Isaac Hayden: 6
Came on and steadied the ship in midfield, where Rangers had lost the initiative.
