QPR v Norwich player ratings
QPR began 2026 with a hugely disappointing 2-1 defeat at home to relegation-threatened Norwich. Here’s how we rated each Rangers player.
Paul Nardi: 6
Recalled to the side and justified his inclusion with a couple of saves to keep Rangers in the game, including a great stop to deny Josh Sargent.
Amadou Mbengue: 5
Scored with a fine strike but overall he was well below par. Slow to react in the build-up to the opening goal.
Jimmy Dunne: 5
Could also have done better for the first goal. Never looked comfortable.
Steve Cook: 5
Also struggled on a bad day for Rangers. Norwich’s attackers always looked a threat. Almost scored early on though when he headed wide of the far post.
Rhys Norrington-Davies: 6
Had a decent spell in the first half but was another QPR player who was well short of his best.
Karamoko Dembele: 6
Offered very little before being taken off early in the second half. Looked lively in spells but there was no end product whatsoever.
Isaac Hayden: 7
Did well in the first half and a superb challenge in the middle of the pitch was a highlight. Taken off after Rangers went behind to make way for the more attacking Kieran Morgan.
Nicolas Madsen: 6
Influential early on, when he set up a chance for Richard Kone and also crossed for Cook. At least tried to make things happen, but struggled to get into the game the longer it went on, and some sloppy passes also crept in.
Paul Smyth: 6
More active than Dembele prior to both being taken off, but it was a frustrating performance from Smyth, who seemed incapable of releasing the ball at the right time.
Richard Kone: 6
Did well in the first half, hassling Norwich’s defence and linking play nicely. Faded as Norwich gained the initiative after the break, though, and was substituted.
Rumarn Burrell: 5
Not a good day for Rangers’ top scorer, who was poor.
Koki Saito: 5
The out-of-form Saito showed little sign of improvement after his second-half introduction.
Kwame Poku: 6
Started badly after coming on, giving the ball away – although he wasn’t helped by a ropey pass from Madsen. But after that, Poku did make a positive impact, producing one excellent run and a right-footed cross which almost led to something.
Kieran Morgan: 5
Not a good outing for the youngster. He was unlucky for Norwich’s second goal, which deflected in off him, but he was well off the pace prior to that.
