Kpekawa moves closer to Barnsley move

Cole Kpekawa has undergone a medical ahead of his proposed move from QPR to Barnsley.

The defender looks set to leave Loftus Road after the two clubs agreed fee of £450,000.

Barnsley made an offer for him last week and Rangers subsequently indicated that they would be willing to sell.

The 20-year-old, a product of Rangers’ youth system, is not currently in manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s first-team plans and it has been decided that he can go.

Kpekawa has made nine senior appearances for QPR, the most recent coming in this month’s EFL Cup game against Swindon.

He has also had spells on loan at Portsmouth, Colchester and Leyton Orient.
