Puncheon’s move to QPR confirmed

The Premier League have confirmed that QPR finalised the signing of  Jason Puncheon before Wednesday’s 11pm deadline.

Puncheon, 25, has joined the club on loan from Southampton until January with a view to a £1m permanent move if he impresses.

Rangers, who paid the Saints a loan fee of £200,000, agreed a deal in principle to sign Puncheon some time ago and he dashed to Loftus Road late on deadline day after being told they were ready to complete the transfer.

The forward was out of favour at Southampton and had not featured in any of their matches this season.

Puncheon has Premier League experience, having spent the second half of last term on loan at Blackpool.

While with MK Dons, he was a target for the then QPR manager Ian Holloway, who has since signed him for both Plymouth and Blackpool.
