Bolton 1 QPR 1

Matt Phillips scored an injury-time equaliser to rescue a point for QPR.

Rangers have now won just two of their 14 matches since Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink took over as manager and were heading for defeat against the Championship’s bottom side before Phillips cut in from the right and fired home.

Zach Clough had put Bolton ahead on 69 minutes with a terrific strike from near the edge of the penalty area.

The opener came shortly after James Perch missed a great chance for Rangers when he failed to find the target from eight yards out after being found unmarked by a cross from substitute Nasser El Khayat.

In the first half, Conor Washington came close to scoring his first QPR goal when he beat his man and forced a fine save from Ben Amos with a powerful drive the Bolton keeper did well to push away.

However, Rangers struggled to create clear-cut chances in the wet and windy conditions at the Macron Stadium.

Hasselbaink responded to Clough’s goal by bringing on Sebastian Polter – who was dropped in favour of Washington – and then Tjaronn Chery.

But it was Phillips who hauled the R’s level with his seventh goal of the season.

QPR: Smithies; Perch, Onuoha, Hall, Konchesky; Phillips, Henry (Chery 79), Luongo, Hoilett (El Khayati 61); Mackie (Polter 73), Washington.
Subs not used: Ingram, Angella, Tozser, Petrasso.
