No Rangers return for Austin this weekend

Charlie Austin will not be involved in QPR’s game at Rotherham on Saturday.

The striker has scored 10 goals this season but has not featured for Rangers for more than a month.

Rangers said they would monitor his fitness following a hamstring injury to assess whether he would play this weekend.

But Austin will not be involved at the New York Stadium, where Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink will be looking for his first win since taking over as QPR manager.

Hasselbaink, whose side have slumped to 17th in the Championship table, says keeper Rob Green is “ready for selection” after missing the last two matches.

  • Yep agree ... He's a gonna ! Makes sense to sell him, he deserves the move ... Been a great player for us, and been a man of his word ... Good luck Charlie boy ... And thank you.

  • Except that QPR seem unable to offload anyone! Even Austin, a hard worker, never a bother in the locker room and scored 18 goals in the PL last season and everyone he is linked with comes out and say they aren't interested.

  • Does anyone think like me that Austin has played his last game for QPR. It is far easier to sell a player who is not crocked on the day of a medical.
