New QPR signings pick up injuries

New signings Matt Smith and Lee Wallace have picked up injuries on QPR’s pre-season trip to Austria.

On-loan Manchester City midfielder Smith (pictured) is nursing a minor thigh problem.

Defender Wallace, a recent signing from Glasgow Rangers, has a hip problem.

Both players will miss Friday’s friendly against Austria Vienna along with Ilias Chair and Lewis Walker.

Rangers hoped to be joined by Geoff Cameron in Vienna but as of Thursday evening he was yet to agree the financial settlement with Stoke which would enable him to sign for QPR as free agent.

  • I am impressed I like youth and a few oldies raring to prove people wrong and to tighten up our defence then we could be challengers for a play off.
I do not understand the negative comments towards the owners and sir les, there only faults was to let warnock leave and employ Hughes and reddnapp who spent their money on over rated players on silly wages. Best manager warnock his best players were frees Derry and Hill proved every time they played and always gave 100/00 percent. I be been supporting rangers since I was six so 59 years and have watch great sides but when we had our youth players coming through were the best Morgan twins, parkes, seaman,Francis marshy,Stan the man Austin so many great memories. So here’s to Warburtons boys creating lots more.

  • Do we as a club never learn, already injuries and we are about to complete the signing of a second old man likely to be injury prone in Cameron. We have already wasted a squad place on Rangell, who is also too old, too slow and too injury prone. Concentrate on youth please!
