QPR set to resume Onuoha talks

QPR are set to resume talks over defender Nedum Onuoha’s proposed move to Loftus Road.

Rangers were recently given the green light to speak to the former England Under-21 international after reaching an agreement with Manchester City.

Onuoha put those discussions on hold for personal reasons but remains on course to make the switch to west London ahead of next week’s transfer deadline.

The 25-year-old has been out of favour at Eastlands for some time and spent last season on loan at Sunderland.

Rangers have made approaches for a number of defenders but Onuoha was earmarked as a potential signing months ago and has long been their number one target.

They were recently unable to persuade transfer-listed Chelsea centre-back Alex to join them and are considering whether to table another bid for Blackburn’s Chris Samba.
