Latest Sandro injury frustrates QPR boss

QPR boss Harry Redknapp has admitted his frustration at Sandro picking up yet another injury.

Sandro suffered a hamstring injury in Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Manchester City at Loftus Road, where he was withdrawn at half-time.

The Brazilian had a knee problem prior to his summer move from Tottenham and struggled to regain his fitness in the opening weeks of the season.

He also went off at Southampton after taking an early knock to the head and more recently returned to action after a groin strain.

Saturday’s latest setback came after Sandro, 25, had managed to complete matches against Aston Villa and Chelsea.

“Sandro felt his hamstring at half-time,” Redknapp said.

“We just can’t seem to keep him fit. It’s disappointing. We need him – when he plays he’s a good player for us.”

Sandro will be assessed later this week but has some time to recover because of the international break.

Rangers are not in action again until 22 November, when they are away to Newcastle.
