QPR defender Grant Hall has returned to full training again in another attempt to avoid surgery and rescue his season.

Rangers fear Hall, who has not played since April because of a persistent knee problem, will miss the entire campaign.

He has suffered setbacks during previous attempted comebacks and another would lead to him having an operation and remaining sidelined for several months.

But manager Ian Holloway told the club’s website that Hall is confident he will be back in action sooner rather than later.

“Hally is in the last chance saloon now to avoid needing surgery on his knee,” Holloway said.

“All seems good with him right now. He’s happy and feeling confident about it which is great.”

Nedum Onuoha and James Perch are also training again following their respective injuries.

Perch is close to a return to action and Onuoha could be even closer – the captain, out for nearly three months with a torn hamstring, is in the squad for Saturday’s game against Leeds.
