Judge tells Ipswich he wants QPR move

Alan Judge has told Ipswich he wants to leave amid interest from QPR, the East Anglian Daily Times reports.

Midfielder Judge, 30, previously played at Brentford under R’s boss Mark Warburton, who is keen to be reunited with him at Loftus Road.

QPR have had an offer for the Irishman rejected but remain keen on a potential deal.

And Ipswich manager Paul Lambert has admitted that Judge has indicated he would like to move.

“Judgey has spoken to me and I think he would like to go,” Lambert said.

“It’s his prerogative to say what he wants to do, but I don’t know the state of where that’s at.

“He’s spoken to me and I guess it’s over to Judgey to see what he wants to do. I think he wants to go.”

Judge joined Ipswich from Brentford on a short-term deal in January and signed a two-year contract in April.

  • You are welcome if you can score a goal or two. We need strikers here before the season starts, I can see an exact replica to last season looming, where ARE the goals coming from?? Or do we intend to flood our goalmouth with defenders and hoping for a quick breakaway for a goal with seconds left to play? and TF says we are 'developing players' - anyone buying this crap?

  • Why sign a new contract in april then? The relegation was already confirmed at this time

  • Anyone who signs a permanent contract for any club in April 2019 then requests to leave In July 2019 is nothing other than a greedy to55er (end of). He 100% used Ipswich to get fit, game time then off he trots. Used to have great respect for Judge/Warbuton before this episode. Oh well - like all previous QPR mangers of late, will end in tears...........shame

  • Nobody at QPR cares if you've played for Brentford mate, its a one way thing.

The only tragedy is how much better you are than us at the moment. We are an absolute shambles, selling off all our best players and replacing them with loanees. Great long term strategy that.

  • It's entirely understandable that today's footballers need to maximise their income in often short careers...but do they really either have no brains or do they just not give a stuff...?
Judge was brilliant in his time at Griffin Park but it was also understandable when he got an offer from Portman Road to play regular football.
But QPR after Brentford is one of those steps you just don't - or shouldn't - make in the game if you don't want to be remembered for the wrong reasons...like going from Palace to Brighton...Arsenal from Spurs...Birmingham from Villa...Norwich from Ipswich ...or Leeds from anywhere!
Best of luck Judgey...you're off my Christmas list for one...!!!
