JET joins Gillingham on loan from QPR

Jay Emmanuel-Thomas has joined Gillingham from QPR on a season-long loan.

West London Sport revealed on Friday morning that the 25-year-old forward was heading for the Priestfield Stadium.

Emmanuel-Thomas is surplus to requirements at Loftus Road and ended last season on loan at MK Dons.

He was signed on a free transfer from Bristol City a year ago and enjoyed a purple patch early last season, scoring four goals in seven appearances and impressing while Rangers were without the injured Charlie Austin.

But he became out of favour under former head coach Chris Ramsey, whose successor Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink quickly decided he did not want Emmanuel-Thomas either.

Meanwhile, midfielder Michael Doughty has also left Rangers on season-long loan, returning to Swindon Town.

  • I'm a little bewildered, both Jet and Doughty played most of pre-season,if we were going to loan them out again,we obviously don't think them good enough,so why don't we just get rid of them permanently. Its totally disingenuous to keep these players on a string,by the same token JFH can't keep complaining his squad is not big enough.
