Injured Helguson ruled out of derby

QPR forward Heidar Helguson is still struggling with an ongoing groin problem and will miss Saturday’s derby against his former club Fulham.

Rangers were hoping to have the Icelander available – particularly as Djibril Cisse is still suspended – but Helguson has not been able to train this week.

Defender Danny Gabbidon has been nursing a hamstring problem but trained on Thursday and will be included in the squad if he comes through a fitness test.

Manager Mark Hughes has indicated that recent signing Samba Diakite will make his debut in this weekend’s game.
