Iceland striker will not join QPR, says agent

Kolbeinn Sigthórsson’s agent and brother has insisted the Ajax striker would not be interested in a move to QPR.

Rangers boss Harry Redknapp travelled to watch Ajax in a cup match against Feyenoord this week.

It led to reports he is interested in 23-year-old Iceland international Sigthórsson, who came on as a second-half substitute in the game.

But Andri Sigthórsson says his brother has no desire to play in the Championship.

He said: ”Kolbeinn will not leave for a first division club. He is focused on scoring goals for Ajax and will remain where he is.”

Redknapp is keen to sign at least one forward before next week’s transfer deadline.

He recently suggested he may look abroad because English clubs are unwilling to sell.
