McClaren insists three-goal defeat was harsh on QPR

Steve McClaren insisted Swansea’s 3-0 win over QPR flattered the Welsh side.

Rangers started well at the Liberty Stadium but conceded against the run of play and the Swans netted twice more in the second half.

Rangers manager McClaren said: “That flattered them. I can’t believe it’s 3-0.

“I couldn’t believe their first goal – that was their first attack and we concede. It was a poor goal to concede.”

But McClaren admitted his team’s lack of an end product and their consistent giving away of possession proved costly.

“We kept giving the ball away. The final ball wasn’t quite right,” he said.

“We were just that half a yard short with our pass and giving the ball away too much.

“Our organisation was good and we could have scored. In the second half we had two or three very good opportunities.

“Games are won by sticking the ball in the net and we didn’t do that. They were clinical and we weren’t.”

  • Not buying it either, but get used to it because you will be hearing it for the rest of the season.

  • I dont believe it - still the drivel comes, is anyone buying this tripe apart from QPR management.
