Hughes to make quick decision on out-of-contract QPR players

A number of QPR players are likely to discover within the next 48 hours whether they have a future at Loftus Road.

The contracts of Akos Buzsaky, Clint Hill, Danny Gabbidon and keeper Radek Cerny expire this summer and they are waiting to be told whether they will be offered new deals or are being released along with the likes of Fitz Hall and Patrick Agyemang.

Buzsaky and Hill are hoping to be given new deals.

Keeper Paddy Kenny, whose contract expires next year, is hoping to be given an extension.

“I’ve always said it wouldn’t happen until the end of the season, and with the game on Sunday behind us we can have those conversations,” Hughes told West London Sport.

“There are a number of players with various situations and I understand that, but the priority had to be to focus on staying in the Premier League and then see where we stand.”

Meanwhile, Hughes and chief executive Philip Beard are today due to discuss the future of Joey Barton following the player’s violent outburst against Manchester City.
