Holloway upbeat despite cup thrashing

Ian Holloway says the cup thrashing against Brentford has not changed his belief that QPR are heading in the right direction.

Rangers were beaten 4-1 at home by their neighbours but their start to the Championship campaign has been encouraging.

Statistics show Holloway’s emphasis on pressing the opposition has been successful so far.

And the Rangers boss says his team can surpass expectations this season despite Tuesday’s one-sided derby.

“It hasn’t dampened my enthusiasm for what we’re doing in the league,” he said.

“We are the best closing-down team winning it in the opposition’s half out of the top two divisions, which is something to be proud of.

“We haven’t got slaughtered like a lot of people thought we would.”
