QPR boss rules out midfielder signing

QPR boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink says he has no plans to bring in a midfielder following Ariel Borysiuk’s injury.

New signing Borysiuk is expected to be out for six weeks with an ankle injury but Hasselbaink believes Rangers still have plenty of options.

He said: “We’ve got enough. We’ve got one injury in that department, which might be six weeks, but we have other people who can play in that position.

“We have Karl (Henry), Massimo (Luongo), Jordan Cousins and Michael Doughty and are okay in that area.”

Borysiuk twisted his ankle during a training session

Hasselbaink made it clear earlier this week that all those players are ahead of Sandro in the pecking order, meaning the Brazilian is unlikely to play if he remains at QPR.

The club are desperate to offload him but Sandro recently failed medical at Sporting Lisbon and interest from Russian club Rubin Kazan appears to have come to nothing.

QPR face Watford at Loftus Road later today in their final friendly before the start of the new Championship campaign.
