Gallen: QPR can challenge for top two spot

Kevin Gallen believes QPR are genuine challengers for automatic promotion.

Rangers’ win over promotion rivals West Brom took them up to fourth in the Championship table, five points behind second-placed Bournemouth with a game in hand.

Former Rangers forward Gallen said: “Second position is not out of sight at all.

“I think there are so many ups and downs and twists and turns remaining in this campaign. It’s all to play for.

“I think we’ll have a good go. Whether we get there or not, I’m 50-50.

“I do think that Fulham and Bournemouth have the best two squads in the division. If they keep everyone fit I expect them to be one and two. But that’s not to say that we can’t push them.”

Gallen was joined on the West London Sport QPR podcast by Dan Bennett, Ian McCullough and Ben Kosky.

Ben suggested that Rangers’ strong midfield options mean captain Stefan Johansen should not necessarily be regarded as an automatic choice.
