Fulham’s Smith has trial at QPR

Fulham youngster Alex Smith is having a trial with QPR.

The left-back, who turned 20 on Monday, played for Rangers’ reserves in a match against Reading on Tuesday afternoon.

Smith is a product of Fulham’s youth system and was an ever-present for the Under-18s side which reached the Academy League Final earlier this year. He is yet to make a first-team appearance.

His contract at Craven Cottage is due to expire next summer.
