Plummer joins Scunthorpe as assistant boss

Chris Plummer has become assistant manager of Scunthorpe United.

The West Londoner, 46, will again be working under Jimmy Dean, who has taken over as boss at Glanford Park after leaving Peterborough Sports.

Plummer was with Dean at the National League North club, who won four promotions under them.

A former England Under-21 international, Plummer was at QPR for a decade and made 72 appearances for the club – one of which came in the Premier League. His career also included spells at Barnet and Peterborough.

Scunthorpe, a Championship club as recently as 2011, are currently one off the bottom of the National League table.
