Townsend hails ‘unselfish’ ex-QPR striker Zamora

Andros Townsend says Bobby Zamora was one of the most underrated players he has come across.

Speaking on Talksport, the Crystal Palace winger was asked to name his ‘underrated five-a-side’.

Townsend played alongside Zamora during a loan spell at QPR in 2013 and named him along with Heurelho Gomes, Mousa Dembele, Jack Wilshire and Tom Huddlestone.

“When I played with him at QPR he was so unselfish,” Townsend explained.

“He doesn’t care about scoring goals. All he cares about is pinning the defenders and helping you, giving you something to play off and making you a better player and getting you goals as opposed to scoring goals himself.”
