Redknapp defiant after another QPR defeat

QPR boss Harry Redknapp again insisted fitness issues and Loic Remy’s departure were the main causes of his team’s shortcomings following the 2-0 defeat at West Ham.

Rangers’ latest loss leaves them bottom of the table going into the international break.

And Redknapp said: “We’ve got some players who are still off the pace – still not up to speed.

“People like Sandro and Jordon Mutch, who I brought in, haven’t played two games together.

“We’re short of goals, short of goalscorers up front, and we lost Remy right on the deadline and couldn’t get a replacement.

“It’s been a tough start but there’s a long way to go. One win changes everything. We’re not going to give up.

“We’ve got to find a way of playing that will suit everybody and get the best out of what we’ve got.”

Rangers went behind when Nedum Onuoha scored an own goal after only five minutes.

Charlie Austin missed a couple of chances before Diafra Sakho netted West Ham’s second just before the hour mark.

Redknapp admitted: “We got off to a bad start and when you haven’t got a lot of belief, haven’t been scoring and have been conceding goals, the last thing you need is to concede a sloppy goal from a corner.

“We were probably having our best spell when they scored the second goal. It’s difficult. It’s not easy.”
