Onuoha praised after scoring on 100th QPR appearance

Chris Ramsey paid tribute to Nedum Onuoha after the defender marked his 100th QPR appearance with a goal in their 3-0 win at Yeovil.

Onuoha sealed Rangers’ place in the second round of the Capital One Cup after summer signings Seb Polter and Jay Emmanuel-Thomas had scored their first goals for the club.

It was a satisfying night for head coach Ramsey, who also gave debuts to recent signings Grant Hall and Oscar Gobern as well as teenage defender Cole Kpekawa.

Ramsey said: “It was Nedum’s 100th appearance and he is leading by example. I was really pleased.

“I also thought Seb Polter worked his socks off and pushed to make that position up front his.”

Ramsey was pleased with his team’s display against the Glovers

Rangers’ cup record over the last decade suggested they could be in for a difficult night at Huish Park.

But their two first-half goals put them in a commanding position before Onuoha got his name on the scoresheet.

“It was a job well done in what could have been a potential banana skin. I wanted us to be professional,” Ramsey added.

  • What's promotion worth get Charlie to sign he will score over twenty goals and if he still wants to leave we both get a good deal for a great player and a top geezer best wishes to Chas what ever happens

  • I think the QPR squad has the potential to do very well this season, especially if Austin and Fer stay. It's just a matter of getting selection and tactics in order.
    Over to you Chris
