QPR trio needed a rest – Ramsey

Chris Ramsey said he left Tjaronn Chery, Jay Emmanuel-Thomas and Massimo Luongo out of the QPR side against Derby because all three were showing signings of fatigue.

Rangers were beaten 1-0 by the Rams and are now 13th in the Championship table, having won only two of their last 10 matches.

“Chery has probably been shell-shocked by the Championship and it’s intensity and the fact that you’re playing so many games in such a short space of time,” Ramsey said.

“We’ll wait for him to freshen up and Jay has also played an amount of games in a short period of time. It was important that we freshened it up a little bit.”

The result did nothing to ease the pressure on head coach Ramsey, who insisted Derby’s second-half winner should not have stood.

Rangers felt Richard Keogh handled the ball when he teed up Andreas Weimann to fire home.

“There’s very little you can do when someone handballs it and sets somebody up and the referee doesn’t give it,” Ramsey said.

“Ultimately, these are the decisions that stop you from getting to your goal.

“But at the moment we’re going through a little bit of a hard spell. We need to get through it, work hard and keep doing what we believe in.”

  • same excuses drops 3 players that "need a rest" joke should be playing
4 of the 5 players(regular players ) that came down with the club leave out henry his quality is div 1 and play them in there correct places not all over the place every game no midfield attackers and only looking for goals from free kicks and corners
Players cant be told how to play they just need to defend score and assist and not play a stupid formation against derby 7-2-1 not surprised we had only 1 shot on goal and they scored when we had 7 in a line in the penalty area derby had 3
please resign you failed the club players and fans no more chances.
    ps
when ramsey was interviewed at the beginning of the season he was asked whats his ambition at the club the reply was to keep us up in the championship that tells astory
    good luck rs

  • As always, our lack of football know how, will lead to us keeping someone who simply hasn't the ability to organise or motivate a team. What will our excuse be this year for getting relegated yet again, why should we as supporters ,in my case of 54 years, carry on,suffering fools who simply don't know enough about football and more importantly,Our club.

  • I am tired of the media calling our team inept, lamentable, poor, without ideas, unconvincing, wasting talent, without belief, uninspiring, puzzling selection, confusing substitutions, etc ..........Yet we have good players in the squad! My friends are losing heart to continue support. We must change the manager who was recently described as looking like a rabbit in the headlights of an approaching car.

  • Ramsay talks rubbish, he's out of his depths making excuses... where was our chances Vs Derby? We had 1 shot on target whats was never going to go in. We've got a decent footballing squad but have a manager who wants to play long ball… Times up

  • Look at where the other two relegated teams are them look at us. We're going backwards.

  • Mr Ramshackle looks dejected and out of sorts.
He has had a chance to show his skills but achieved very little success.
The pack he needs to chase are now almost out of sight.
The team is showing no cohesion or purpose I reluctantly feel Mr Ramshackle should gracefully hand in his resignation.
