Clarke-Salter and Amos edging closer to return

Luke Amos and Jake Clarke-Salter are on course to return to action for QPR before next month’s international break.

Summer signing Clarke-Salter has not played since the defeat at Blackburn on the opening day of the season and Amos since the win against Middlesbrough the following weekend.

But both players could be back in the squad for the home match against Stoke City on 17 September.

Taylor Richards, meanwhile, is expected to be available after the two-week break.

“Jake and Luke will be back pre-September break and Taylor will be back straight after,” boss Mick Beale said.

“The big thing for me is that, if we’re in a good place, why would I push Luke and Jake, albeit I would take them back as quick as I could?

“If it means they get a cameo against Stoke, I’d prefer that they then get the next two weeks to do a mini pre-season again.

“The September international break probably comes at a good time for both of them.”
