Henry booking angers QPR boss

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink said an unfair first-half yellow card affected Karl Henry’s performance in QPR’s 1-1 draw at Bolton.

Henry was substituted in the second half by boss Hasselbaink, who insisted the midfielder should not have been booked for a 21st-minute challenge on Darren Pratley.

Hasselbaink said: “The referee didn’t help, giving one of our players a yellow card when it was a beautiful 50-50.

“It was an honest 50-50 that my player won and that is what football is about.

Hasselbaink’s side went behind to Zach Clough’s goal

“Of course (after the booking) you have to be careful and you can’t play how you really want to play. For him it was (then) a bit on the back foot.”

The result moved Rangers up to 12th in the Championship table but they have won just two of their 14 matches since Hasselbaink took over as manager.

They salvaged a point at the Macron Stadium, where Matt Phillips netted an injury-time equaliser – his seventh goal of the season.

“The reaction of the players after the (Bolton) goal was good,” Hasselbaink said.

“We knew they were going to be direct at times, and we adjusted well. You have to be stubborn and we did that.”

  • Don't make excuses for Henry as he is just not good.enough.Like a lot of the team
As Wade has stated qpr will never be a big club mid table in the premier league at best.

JFH does need time but unlikely to get 2 more seasons if results don't improve .
Should just get rid of Konchesky, Henry, Perch Hoillet Tozser and Mackie who is way past his best IMO

  • Reading the above comments i have to say QPR "supporters" are beyond delusional. JFH needs to be given at least two more seasons after this one to turn things around. Another new manager is not the answer and QPR should never again aspire to compete financially with the big boys.We are not and never will be a "big" club. Get over yourselves already!

  • I had my say last week.
The performances are dire and I find it difficult to go and watch.
QPR are testing the supporters to their limit.
Born and brought up in Queens Park I think the owners need to appraise what they want to do with the club now.

  • AXE ALL THE DEAD WOOD FROM OTHER MANAGERS AND TRY USING LOAN PLAYERS THEY CANT DO ANY WORSE
POOR TEAM AND PERFORMANCE SAME AGAINST FULHAM NO CHANGES FOR THIS GAME
DONT MAKE EXCUSES FOR HENRY HES POOR
THEN YOURSELF JFH YOU ARE POOR AS A MANAGER GIVE IT UP AND GO BACK TO BURTON OR ELSEWHERE
DISGRACEFUL PERFORMANCE FOR PROFESSIONALS LAST 3 GAMES
    DEREK

  • You could have the best 3 Managers in the world at the moment in charge of this mob and still your not going to get results the club and the fans deserve. These blokes or a lot of them aren't up to this level..How many times do we need to get thoroughly slapped by lower league opponents in cup games. How many times do we have to lose or draw to teams that we're told we should be beating..Dont believe the hype about this group of players, they're useless. .The first bloke that needs to go is the "Indirector" of football, Ferdinand. And after that take your pick..Just keep Mackie and Fraulin and work from there and we may have a chance of getting out of this league in my lifetime. And I mean going in a northerly direction..

  • I'm sorry but I,and most of my fellow supporters are still waiting for that
corner to be turned.JFH still has a lot of convincing to do,we still have too much dead wood in the team, when is jimmy going to get the axe out and liven the team up.Softly ,softly won't catch our monkeys.
