QPR striker Polter urged to be more selfish

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has praised Sebastian Polter and urged the QPR striker to be more selfish.

Rangers are still without a win after eight matches under manager Hasselbaink after drawing 1-1 at Blackburn on Tuesday.

But Polter, playing in the absence of top scorer Charlie Austin, impressed up front and had scored in both his previous two appearances.

And Hasselbaink believes there is more to come from the 24-year-old German, who endured a difficult start to his career at Loftus Road following his move last summer.

“He’s a handful and there’s a lot more to come from him. He’s learning, getting better,” Hasselbaink said.

“We want him at times to be a little bit more clinical and a little bit more selfish – thinking about himself.

“But you do need to give him time. I think there’s a bright future for him.”
