Warnock sympathises with Harry over row

Neil Warnock has expressed sympathy for Harry Redknapp over the QPR manager’s extraordinary public row with Adel Taarabt.

Redknapp launched his most scathing attack on the Moroccan yet following Sunday’s dramatic defeat at home to Liverpool, suggesting Taarabt was “three stone overweight” because he was refusing to train properly.

Former Rangers boss Warnock, now in charge at Crystal Palace, had the task of managing the temperamental Taarabt while he was at Loftus Road.

“I think I’ve made comments like Harry has in the past and that’s how it is,” said Warnock.

“I had a great 12 months [at QPR], but I realise how difficult it is to have him [Taarabt] on board. It’s very difficult.

“Harry is very experienced, he’s seen it all and done it all, and quite rightly he was disappointed on Sunday because they played very well against Liverpool and should have probably had three points, let alone one point.

“So it’s difficult when the microphone is flung in your face straight after, but you’ve got to do it as that’s in your contract, and sometimes you want to go away.”

Taarabt, 25, has returned to training with the rest of the QPR squad as the club look to draw a line under the matter.
