Osayi-Samuel lined up for QPR return but Wallace must wait

Bright Osayi-Samuel has been told he will soon be back in the QPR side.

He was left on the bench for Saturday’s win over Wigan, with the likes of Ilias Chair and Marc Pugh impressing in his absence.

But boss Mark Warburton expects Osayi-Samuel to make a quick return to the starting line-up.

Warburton said: “He’s had a really good season so far. I rested him and I’ll be getting him back involved again very soon.”

Warburton is also hopeful that summer signing Lee Wallace, who previously played under him at Glasgow Rangers, will soon be available.

Wallace has yet to make his R’s debut because of a hip problem and, as of Tuesday evening, was not expected to feature in Wednesday’s Carabao Cup tie against Portsmouth either.

“Probably not Wednesday but he’s not far away now, which is great,” Warburton said.

“Having a player of his experience and quality will be fantastic for us.

“He’s a really experienced, high-quality player and I’m really looking forward to seeing him in the blue and white shirt.”

Meanwhile, QPR believe Luke Amos will be available again soon, after a scan on his injured hamstring revealed that the problem is not serious.

Amos is expected to be available again soon

The on-loan Tottenham youngster, who spent most of last season out with a knee injury, went off during Rangers’ recent home defeat against Swansea.

It was initially feared Amos could be sidelined for up to six weeks, but the damage is only minor.

“The scan came back and it looks really positive. I was worried when he first came off,” said Warburton said.

“With injuries of that nature you worry that it’ll be four to six weeks, but it’s not and hopefully it’ll be a very swift recovery.”
