QPR’s already troubled start to the season took a major turn for the worse with a 7-1 hammering at West Brom. Here’s how we rated each Rangers player in their humiliating defeat.
Conceded one of Albion’s penalties with a daft challenge and generally looked totally unconvincing. He was unlucky when the first goal was scored after he had just produced a superb save.
A couple of nervy early moments set the tone for a day the youngster will want to forget. To his credit, he stuck to the task and was always willing to get forward and try to deliver crosses. But he endured a torrid time defensively and was badly at fault in the build up to one of the goals when he got in Toni Leistner’s way.
At fault for the first goal, when he gave the ball away, and his hesitation led to two more goals in the second half. Very poor.
Had an excellent first half, saving the day with a number of challenges and blasting in an equaliser. He followed that up with a dire second-half display. Gave the ball away in the build up to Albion’s third goal.
Plodded along on the left, but simply not dynamic enough to do what was required, which was to take advantage of Luke Freeman drifting inside and look to pin Matt Phillips back. Phillips, who scored twice against his former club, was comfortable throughout.
Gave the ball away several times and then gave away a penalty in a poor display by the Rangers midfielder.
Did a solid job in the first half when he drifted wide to help out the struggling Kakay. Like the rest of his team-mates his performance disintegrated after the interval.
Another player who was sloppy in possession and completely unable to influence the game in a one-sided second half.
Served up a typically quality delivery to create Rangers’ goal but other than that made very little impact in his left-of-centre role.
Easily contained by the home defence before being taken off in the second half.
A threat in the air, not least in the build up to Rangers’ goal, but his overall performance was nowhere near good enough.
Showed some decent touches after coming on but was barely involved as West Brom dominated.
