QPR’s Scowen set for move to Sunderland

Sunderland are set to sign Josh Scowen from QPR.

The midfielder, 26, has made 96 Championship appearances for Rangers since being signed on a free transfer after leaving Barnsley in 2017.

He was a key player in his first season at Loftus Road but has since struggled to hold down a regular place and has been out of favour under boss Mark Warburton this season.

Scowen’s expected departure and Nahki Wells’ season-long loan from Burnley being scrapped mean plans to end Matt Smith’s loan spell will now be reconsidered.

Smith has been unable to make an impact since arriving from Manchester City, who have been intending to send him elsewhere in the coming days.

  • I never saw that one coming - and he was one of our better ones too. Im beginning to ask if the management team are up to the job. Better get rid of Eze, BOS and Hugill too then and finish the debacle.

  • Nahki Wells gone, scowen being offloaded no one but a couple of boys coming in,Rs heiracy put your head between your legs and kiss your arss's away.

  • so what do you do when you're short of defensive cover,? sell one of your better defenders, typical Rs not a clue, and after 58 years of supporting I GIVE UP.
