QPR confirm loan signing of Lowe

QPR have confirmed the signing of Jamal Lowe on loan from Bournemouth for the rest of the season.

West London Sport recently revealed that Lowe, 28, was wanted by the R’s

The forward joined Bournemouth in August 2021 and has scored seven league goals for the south-coast club, with 27 of his 36 league appearances coming as a substitute.

His career has also included spells at Swansea, Wigan, Portsmouth and Barnet.

Rangers boss Neil Critchley has been keen to sign at least one striker during this month’s transfer window and wants to strengthen in other areas.

Critchley would like a left-footed by player to operate on the right flank – similar to the role in which Ilias Chair cuts in from the left.

QPR would like Crystal Palace’s Malcolm Ebiowei, who is available for a loan move.

But a striker has been a priority and with four players – Ethan Laird, Tyler Roberts, Tim Iroegbunam and Taylor Richards – already on loan prior to Lowe’s arrival, and a maximum of  five permitted in a matchday squad – a deal to sign Ebiowei has not proved to be straightforward.
