Three more set to leave QPR

QPR are set to release three more youngsters as part of a clearout at Loftus Road.

Axel Prohouly, Dan Darbyshire and Danny Rowe and likely to leave by mutual consent after being told they have no future at the club.

French forward Prohouly, 20, was signed in the summer of 2015 after being released by Monaco. He has not made a first-team appearance for Rangers.

Neither have youth product Darbyshire or winger Rowe, who was signed last year after being released by Leicester.

Having recently sold Yeni Ngbakoto, parted company with Steven Caulker and loaned Sean Goss to Glasgow Rangers, the R’s last week terminated the contracts of youngsters Reece Grego-Cox and Michael Petrasso by mutual consent.

And midfielder Brandon Comley this week made permanent move to Colchester United, where he had been on loan.

“You have to get the balance right,” manager Ian Holloway said at the weekend.

“We’ve got far too many players and I’ll be doing a little bit of a cull, because if you’re not getting fresh and coming through then you need to move on.

“So you’ll see over the next few days that some will be released because they’re in the way.

“Hopefully that will give us a fresh impetus and then we’ll see where we go.”

  • what I can't understand is, the fact that we take these boys in sometimes even paying a fee for them, we nurture them spend time and money training them, make them believe they are valued members of our club ,then along comes this clown we call a manager and he just discards them. Not only is that morally wrong, lts not cost effective.

  • Unfortunate that the youngsters are getting the chop. But I guess you have to maintain a certain level of improvement in a club playing in the championship.
I hope they can find a place at another club to continue their dreams of becoming a star

  • " They are in the way...." Lovely terminology but unlikely to make people feel valued. One of my gripes with Holloway is he does not develop individuals, has poor social skills apart from his cheeky West Country personality. He tends to be OK with those that fit into the mould immediately, but is not prepared to develop talent that invariably comes with a challenge
