QPR ‘cull’ set to continue this week

QPR: Loftus Road

QPR plan to show more players the door this week.

Having recently sold Yeni Ngbakoto, parted company with Steven Caulker and loaned Sean Goss to Glasgow Rangers, the R’s last week terminated the contracts of youngsters Reece Grego-Cox and Michael Petrasso by mutual consent.

The clearout will not stop there, with several other players surplus to requirements.

Ariel Borysiuk and Jay Emmanuel-Thomas are among those not in manager Ian Holloway’s plans.

And a number of young players will be told they have no future at Loftus Road and should go elsewhere.

They include midfielder Brandon Comley, who could make a permanent move to Colchester United, where he is currently on loan.

“You have to get the balance right,” said Holloway.

“We’ve got far too many players and I’ll be doing a little bit of a cull, because if you’re not getting fresh and coming through then you need to move on.

“So you’ll see over the next few days that some will be released because they’re in the way.

“Hopefully that will give us a fresh impetus and then we’ll see where we go.”
