Transfer gossip: Talksport link Leeds with QPR duo

Leeds United are interested in QPR duo Luke Freeman and Ebere Eze, Talksport reckon.

It comes after Freeman produced an inspired performance in Rangers’ recent win against Marcelo Bielsa’s side.

Talksport say Leeds want to sign Freeman if they win promotion to the Premier League and are also monitoring young forward Eze.

QPR manager Steve McClaren remarked after his side’s win against Leeds that Freeman would be good enough to get in their team.

It has also been claimed that Aston Villa and Cardiff City want QPR defender Toni Leistner.

Football Insider reckon R’s captain Leistner is rated at £5m and that Villa and Cardiff are “plotting moves” for the German.

The website say a Villa source has indicated that strengthening their defence will be a priority for the club in the summer.

Cardiff have also been tipped to target defenders after struggling in the Premier League this season.

That has led Football Insider to suggest that both clubs want centre-back Leistner, who was signed on a free transfer when his contract at FC Union Berlin expired last summer.

  • I'm a QPR fan, and I think that if we can get 4-5 million for Leistner, I would happily accept it. Leistner has done really well in the backline, but, selling him for 4-5 million after signing him for free would be amazing, especially given our financial issues. We have Lynch and Hall that would be a decent pairing, and Furlong and Scowen could also play CB if needed. I think that QPR should try to get 5 million or more out of Leistner, and try to sign a younger CB that is slightly worse than Leistner, and would be a good third-choice CB behind Lynch and Hall.
