QPR picked up a deserved point at Portman Road, where they played the final few minutes with 10 men after Josh Scowen was sent off.

Scowen, who had an excellent game in midfield, was shown a second yellow card following a foul on Grant Ward.

Rangers defended resolutely and keeper Alex Smithies pushed away an early effort from David McGoldrick.

The visitors, with Luke Freeman playing behind Idrissa Sylla in attack, threatened at times.

Jake Bidwell’s shot following Freeman’s free-kick was tipped over by keeper Bartosz Białkowski, who gathered Alex Baptiste’s header from the resulting corner.

Balls into the box from Jordan Cousins and Pawel Wszolek just evaded Sylla.

And in the final minute, Białkowski kept out a shot from substitute Matt Smith.

QPR: Smithies, Baptiste, Onuoha, Robinson, Wszolek, Cousins (Osayi-Samuel 82), Luongo, Scowen, Bidwell, Freeman, Sylla (Smith 79).
Subs not used: Lumley, Furlong, Hall, Washington, Chair.
